Dewey’s Dimes will reflect regularly on where education is headed in the 21st Century. Much like John Dewey witnessed at the turn of the 20th Century, we are at a crossroads in education where innovation is paramount. Dewey felt American school students should be prepared for lifelong learning and for careers that were ahead not behind in the agricultural yesteryear. Similarly, we need to prepare students to be lifelong innovators and design thinkers ready to identify and tackle problems with which we are not yet acquainted.
